- Take I-40 east out of Knoxville, TN until
you encounter I-81.
- Take I-81 north and continue to I-26 south (formerly I-181
south).
- Follow I-26 south thru Johnson City, TN
to TN highway 67.
- TN 67 is an expressway initially, but changes
as it enters Elizabethton, TN. Follow TN 67 until you have passed
thru "franchise row" and you come to an intersection where US
321 and TN 67 turn to the right. Turn right here still following TN 67.
- Follow TN 67 out of Elizabethton
and into Hampton, TN. In Hampton, US 321 and TN 67 turn left.
Continue following TN 67, so turn left here. The intersection does
does not have a stoplight, but there is a Shell (Roadrunner) station kitty-corner
from you there.
- Continue following TN 67 into and thru Butler,
TN. US 321 will break-off to the right just prior to Butler, so
you can use this as an indicator that you are on the right track, but do not
do not follow US 321.
- Continue on TN 67, about 10 miles out of
Butler. You will encounter an intersection with TN 167. One can
only turn right here and please do so. Again, there is no
traffic light here. There are signs referencing Doeville and Sink
Mountain recreation area just prior to the interesection.
- Follow TN 167 all the way to the Maymead
Office. At one point, TN 167 makes a left turn. It is well marked, but as a
point of reference, there is a bridge straight ahead and to the right a view
of Watauga Lake.
- After the above described turn, the Maymead
Office will be approximately 7 miles further. The Maymead sign
will be on the left and across the street is the driveway. Turn right into
this driveway and you have arrived. The Maymead office is a white building
with green roof. Welcome.
- The trip from Knoxville to the Maymead Corporate
Offices takes approximately 3 hours.
