Safety

Maymead places a high priority on safety. We go well beyond the minimum requirements for safety. For example, we conduct weekly safety meetings for all crews, and we conduct regular safety training sessions for employees. Only CDL approved drivers operate our trucks, and all trucks operate with their headlights on at all times. Moreover, we tarp all loads even when not required by law. We are also proud to be a part of the Tennessee Drug Free Workplace program.

Our plants and mobile equipment have extensive controls in place to minimize the risks of injuries or environmental accidents. "Lockout-tagout" is practiced by all or else, and all supervisors are trained to enforce safety rules and to recognize potential hazards in the workplace.

Maymead lives by the following principles:

• All injuries and occupational illnesses can be prevented.
• Prevention of accidents, injuries and occupational illnesses is simply a good business practice.
• The pursuit of safety is not just a priority. It must be a value held and shared by all employees.
